Minutes
of the 1979 meeting
|
Matters arising: The Wilkinson Sword Trophy. It was agreed that the Ben Hird Memorial Trophy would be placed in a suitable carrying box and that silver plaques be affixed to the mounting to record the dates and names of winners. It was further agreed that the Sword would form part of the Scorton Group of trophies taking precedence after the Horn Spoon. The Sword would be awarded annually to the longbowman scoring the highest number of hits on the scoring surface of his targets. Should there be a tie then the highest score would decide the winner. Accounts: The Clerk reported that the balance at the bank remained undisturbed at £15.22 Ties and Cravats: The Gentlemen present approved the style and design of Society ties and cravats. The opportunity was taken at this point to request Gentlemen to wear ties or cravats at Luncheon and Tea. Appreciations: The Captain expressed his thanks on behalf of the Society to the Ladies for scoring, to the Govenors of the School for the use of the grounds, to Messrs Firths Carpets Limited for their support, to the Judge for his services and to the Clerk of the Society. There
being no further matters to consider, the Gentlemen then withdrew to
continue shooting. |
