Minutes
of the 1987 meeting
|
The Minutes of the 278th Meeting were read by the Lieutenant, approved by the Gentlemen present and signed. Apologies were presented by Past Captains: Sam Henderson, Bill Kirk, Frank Berry, Barry Norbury and from the Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire, also from Dr N Brooke, B Wilkinson, A Armstrong and Mrs D Arnold, on behalf of her late husband. The Clerk dealt with correspondence, commencing with the honour accorded to the Society in the personal message from H M The Queen, in response to our Loyal address. The subject of a fund to deal with unexpected expenses was discussed at length. It was firmly endorsed that the expenses of a meeting would continue to be borne by all the Gentlemen taking part or entering, but provision for items of an unexpected nature would be considered by the Council of Captains and a report and recommendations would be set before the next meeting. A resolution to this effect was passed. The meeting closed with the thanks of Members to all those who had contributed to the enjoyment of the day. Be
it recorded that the Gentlemen present subscribed £125.00 to a
Reserve Fund, to which the Hambleton District Sports Council contributed
a further £50.00; the monies received being placed in a Building
Society. |
